With a passion for precision, materials and design, Sophie Zang approaches her work with a sharp visual sensitivity and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. Trained as a bookbinder, she developed an early understanding of structure, texture and detail. Her path into sculpture began unexpectedly - after attending her friends graduate exhibition, she discovered stone as a material and felt immediately drawn to it. Not long after, she began working with it herself.

Today she creates finely balanced bodies and heads with technical skills, guided by instinct and a discerning eye.
